Recording of an online meeting about how to find facts you can trust. Here’s one bit of news that isn’t fake: Americans over 50 years old shared 80% of the fake media content in the 2016 campaign. The good news? Many are doing something about it by wising up to inaccurate “news” and by changing how they use social media. To help media consumers assess content , the League of Women Voters of the Comal Area (LWVCA) hosted “Fact or Fake? Media Misuse Today,” an online public meeting about ways to judge the accuracy of news media. The League of Women Voters is a 501(c)3, nonpartisan educational and political organization that encourages the informed and active participation in government and influences public policy through education and advocacy. LWV never supports or opposes candidates for office, or political parties. For more information, to join or to donate go to lwvcomal.org.
