Swatching the Danessa Myricks Groundwork Blooming Romance Palette. This is the second Groundwork palette released by the brand in a warm, rosy theme. There are 12 shades, each split into a creamy pomade and powder pairing. The larger pans are pomades and the smaller pans are powders. The pomades generally look more vibrant or deeper in the pan but are sheerer than the powders when swatched. They are a somewhat drier feeling cream, similar to a putty. They do not feel wet or oily. They sit on the skin with a semi-matte finish and offer a blurring/smoothing quality. My favorite way to use them so far is as cream blush applied with fingers or a foundation-type brush. They can also be used as eyeshadow alone or as bases underneath the powders, though this is personally not my favorite way to use them as they decrease wear time for me. When used on the lips, I get the sheerest application applying them with my fingers and more opacity and crispness if I use a lip brush or angled brush. The powders have good pigmentation and do not necessarily need the help of the pomades for great color payoff. They have a smooth, fine texture to the touch and can be a tad bit powdery in the pan when I pick them up with brushes. Despite this, they adhere well to the lid and do not dust away too easily during application. I experimented with just using the powders alone for eyeshadow and was able to get excellent wear time over a primer and color payoff was plenty vibrant and strong that way. In general, this is a warm palette. The lighter pinks are definitely on the warmer side. The only cool-ish color combo I've come up with is the trio of shades Crush + Allure + XO.
