Equine coat color expert Lesli Kathman designed Lavinia’s gorgeous black tobiano-sabino coat. Vanners commonly have coats with colorful sabino patterning, which can appear very roan-like. This quality can make dark markings appear lighter, like it has with Lavinia! The sabino patterning also impacts the edges of her tobiano markings, making them “lacy” and irregular in appearance.
