Lu examines how these dazzling robes were crafted—their structure, materials, and intricate techniques. Liu follows with an exploration of their symbolism, revealing how imagery of celestial palaces, sacred mountains, dragons, immortals, and astral cycles transformed the wearer into a living bridge between heaven and earth. Drawing on one of the finest collections of Daoist textiles outside China, this conversation illuminates how ritual dress functioned not only as ceremonial attire, but as a portable cosmic diagram.
