This was the best year so far doing this because I found the oldest thing I have found here. Metal detecting my own yard here in NH and I have never been able t find anything over 100 years old because this was all forest used for the timber going to the mill going back hundreds of years. It can be fun to see what is buried in your own yard despite the age and just to see what is in the ground. I like finding things I know did not come from me, were not lost by me and predate the house. As well using the metal detector you get to clean up the ground. I used my trusted Fisher F19 and had a blast. As well I share the story of our screaming fox who lives in the backyard and makes a lot of noise every night.
