Come join us at First Fruits Farm in Louisburg, NC, where we go RV camping at the 2022 First Fruits Farm Memorial Balloon Festival. We have a front and center seat to balloon ascensions, night glows and fireworks, and enjoyed all of the festivities at the Balloon Fest like live music, good food, and honor our fallen veterans at the special tributes and memorials. This is the first year that Jason Brown, former NFL star turned farmer, has opened up his fields to allow RV camping. It is boondock (no hookup) camping, where you find any place on the field and set up camp. The farm is a 1000 acre property that Jason bought for charitable purposes, to grow food for the needy and provide a place for fundraising events, etc. The full story can be seen here:    • Official First Fruits Farm Tour   We saw daily "mass ascensions" of all the participating balloonists, including 6:30 AM launches from our front yard, where we were camping! We also saw the "night glows", where the balloons stay tethered to the ground, but light up their brilliant colors at night, and each evening was capped off by a beautiful fireworks display. While there, our friends Henry & Janet took a balloon ride (for Janet's birthday) with Balloons Over America (BalloonsOverAmerica.net). We got to participate in the champagne toast and a tutorial of ballooning by pilot Mark Meyer. During the weekend we saw live performances of "The American Bombshells", a modern day twist on the Andrews Sisters, serve as Ambassadors of America's Gratitude, traveling the globe with an All-American show that dazzles in three part harmony! We also saw "Rae Radick" perform live on stage. Rae Radick often describes herself as, “The Love Child of Shania Twain + Miranda Lambert + a dash of New York City.” She recently opened for Miranda Lambert and Brett Young at Citadel Country Spirit Music Festival in 2021, and Broadway's Palladium Theater in Times Square.
