Our Abandoned barn find Chevelle gets its first new parts in nearly a quarter century. Now that we have revived this neglected Malibu, and have gotten back on the road, we need to start addressing the sub-systems. The first area that we will focus on will be the fuel system. Up to this point, we have been running the car off a fuel just that Trevor has been holding between his legs on the passenger side. Naturally, this is the first thing I want to address for safety and convenience. Since this Chevelle was left sitting outside for nearly 25 years here in the PNW, I did not even want to bother trying to restore and reuse the original fuel tank. I had initially ordered a new stainless steel fuel tank but it has been on back order for months. With summer fast approaching I realized that we needed to get a fuel tank in the car, so I ordered the cheapest one I could find to hold us over. We encountered some headaches with the fuel tank straps, which were self-inflicted since the ones I purchased were stainless steel, thus the metal was far harder the the factory steel pieces. This just allowed me to show Trevor different ways to work around these problems. Thanks for the support. We hope that you enjoy the video. Please be sure to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE to the channel.
