Latent Tuberculosis Infection LTBI and Community Providers Webinar
The webinar is to enhance community medical providers’ awareness of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI). A brief overview of latent tuberculosis vs. active tuberculosis is given along with the most recent numbers of TB cases in NYS and CDC estimates of those with LTBI. It encourages community providers to assess their patients for TB risk factors, then test and treat them for LTBI as indicated. The second part of the webinar highlights the NYS Electronic Latent TB Infection (LTBI) Toolkit which can be accessed on the NYS Bureau of TB Control website: https://www.health.ny.gov/diseases/co.... The utility of the Toolkit is demonstrated; how to navigate the links to specific information.
