One Month Later… The Truth About Apple’s Techwoven Case - Full, Data-Backed Review

When I first tested Apple’s Techwoven case, I thought it might finally dethrone the Silicone Case as my favorite Apple case. But after 30 drops with the case and a side-by-side comparisons, the data shows that the Apple's Techwoven’s fabric comfort comes at the cost of real protection. Still feels great but... I'm on a mission to find the best iPhone 17 Cases out there. I'm planning on reviewing 50 cases in order to figure out the Top 5. Get your own Apple Techwoven Case For The iPhone 17's by using this link: https://mreh.ca/3IS5rAK *This is an Amazon affiliate link that will bring you to the right Amazon store for your location #ReviewerNotInfluencer #Reviews #iPhone In this video: 0:00 Intro 0:34 Design 1:01 Handling & Usability 1:46 Protection Features 2:00 Drop Protection Apple Techwoven Case For The iPhone 17's Review -I'm a big fan of the design of the Techwoven -especially the actual techwoven fabric -color selection isn't crazy, they're all iPhone colored matched -one bummer, the Techwoven case is only available for the Pro models of the 17's -if you haven't, goto the apple store and touch the case -i'm a big fan of the finish -it's grippy enough without being in your face -I will note that the finish is glued onto the edge of the case -this corner suffered through 18 corner drops and it looks fine -drops on rough surfaces will scuff it up -like the silicone case, the Techwoven weighs 35g -but is a hair bulkier than the silicone case at 47% -when it comes the protection -despite having a bit more bulk, this techwoven case isn't as tough as the Apple silicone case... -yea, i know -for corner drops, the initial impact was around 10.5g's which is average -remember the silicone case was around 9.5, so the techwoven hit harder? -the biggest difference is the materials -the silicone case is rubber shell that absorbs shock really well -the techwoven is just a piece of fabric with a bit of foam glue to a PC back -It bends more, but cushions less — which is why it hits harder. -Interestingly enough, despite the iPhone feeling the hit -because of the grippy finish on the edge, the iPhone doesn't tumble/spin as much -case spun 9% less than the average case -NOW unlike the silicone case, the techwoven case does a better job at settling the iPhone down after the initial impact -BUT it's still 20% lower than the average case -Not great -Overall, the Techwoven is almost exactly average in terms absorbing the overall force in my corner drop testing -onto face first drops -like the Apple silicon case, the clearance between an iPhone with a screen protector is very thin -so a small flex in a drop is going to cause contact between a hard surface and your iPhone -definitely a red flag -with camera lump drops -it's the same story as corner drops -higher initial impact, settles quicker but overall force to the iPhone is higher a dual layered case with its PC back and TPU edge -beacuse of the finish, the case doesn't slide around as much -corners are close to 2.0 mm thick, same with the back -surprisingly ridged case given it's size, it's around 36% more ridged than the average case -no issues with Magsafe -took 8.2N to pull accessories off -10N to pull -BUT overall, the magnetic strength is about 10% weaker than the average tested iPhone 17 case -case has metallic flow thru buttons -they're easy to use -the port cutout doesn't fit all cables
