The Country Doctor in the Age of Corporate Medicine | NEJM

In this documentary video, neurosurgery resident Mark Pacult reflects on the lessons he learned during a medical school rotation in the small town of Prosperity, South Carolina, about the medicine that occurs outside the office setting and the importance of genuine, trusting, longitudinal relationships with patients. Working with family medicine physician Oscar Lovelace, Jr., Dr. Pacult came to understand the value of long-term patient–physician relationships.
