Read Emery's biography: Emery Que is a 15-year-old sophomore at Montgomery Blair High School in Maryland. She began her piano studies at the age of five. Emery has won awards at numerous competitions including first prizes at the 2022 and 2025 WMTA Viola Hartman Piano Competition, the 2020 and 2024 Hungarian Festivals, the 2021 Northern Virgina District Audition, the 2021 and 2022 YMIC Metropolitan Music Festival, the Outstanding Achievement Award at the 2025 American Maestro Carnegie Debut Audition, and other top prizes and honors at the MTNA Maryland state competition, the Virginia State Audition, the NVMTA Achievement Awards and Sonata Festivals, the 2022 Charleston International Competition, the AMMA competition, the Washington Universal Piano Competition and the MSMTA Fall Festival, etc. Believing in music’s power to heal, comfort and inspire people, Emery has volunteered to perform for the Tacy Foundation at the NIH, hospitals, senior centers and rehab facilities. Additionally, she acts as a Red Cross teen performing at the Walter Reed Military Medical Center for its Arts in Health program. Besides music, Emery enjoys problem-solving at math competitions, biology labs, creative writing, swimming and biking.
