Hello, Welcome to my seventh tutorial on route creation in Train Simulator 2021. My tutorials are long and that's just the way it is folks! This tutorial will be a continuation of my Tutorial 006 about laying track using Google Earth to set the track elevations and grades. This is a basic tutorial series where I talk about the methods I used to create my own route in the simulator. As we go along I discuss how I planned that route, materials and visual aids that I needed, and tips to make it easier for you to do the same on a route of your own. Please enjoy and leave a polite comment and any constructive criticism or suggestions you might have. I won't promise to answer everyone's questions, but I'll try and help or offer another tutorial that might. REMEMBER, I am not responsible for any issues you create on your computer or gaming platform. Use caution when editing or changing game parameters. There are two methods I use to set the gradients on my route creations. Here, I am discussing using Google Earth to acquire the elevations needed to create the proper grades for the route. In a future tutorial I will describe using real railroad profile charts to create the route. Not every railroad's profile charts are in public domain, so it is important to understand how to create using the Google Elevations. As always, I recommend patience creating a route and watching tutorials on the web to learn the basics before you attempt to create a route. You can learn about some of the pitfalls and problems by learning from others. In the end, some time invested at the beginning will save time over the long haul. I encourage you to watch my earlier tutorials, which are admittedly long, but I think will help you create. I'm not monetized on YouTube so I'm not getting rich encouraging you to watch. Thanks for watching and more to come.
