This webinar was part one of a six-part series that guided participants through the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development's (HUD) new multifamily utility benchmarking guidance, including the new HUD Multifamily Utility Benchmarking Website (https://www.hudexchange.info/programs...) and Toolkit (https://www.hudexchange.info/programs.... The goal of this series was for attendees to become familiar with the specific guidance and tools HUD has developed to help facilitate, encourage, and streamline the benchmarking of energy and water performance at multifamily properties. Attendees were encouraged to register for and attend all six sessions. By attending this session, participants were able to: 1) Learn the importance of utility benchmarking as a fundamental asset management practice for multifamily properties, including the benefits to property owners, tenants, and the public; 2) Understand various drivers for benchmarking multifamily properties, including HUD's existing and proposed requirements; 3) Receive a guided overview of the new HUD Multifamily Utility Benchmarking Toolkit, including new resources and guidance that HUD is making available; and 4) Preview upcoming webinars that will provide a "deeper dive" into specific benchmarking issues and associated Toolkit elements.
