In this video I would like to share with you 7 different words and meaning of illness, sickness, pain and suffering. They are sick, ill, pain, hurt, suffer, ache and hurt. Below are form of the sentences and examples: sick (adj) to be sick/to get sick sick + noun I am sick. / I get sick. / Bopha was sick. He is a sick boy. / A sick boy goes to the hospital. ill (adj) has similar meaning and usage as sick, but ill is mostly used in long term sickness/illness. to be ill/to get ill I am ill. / I got ill since January Hurt (v) Does it hurt? / Don’t hurt anyone. It hurts. / Love hurts. / You hurt me. / My feet hurt. Pain (v) It pains. It pains me to see Khmers being mistreated. Pain (n) I am in pain. I got a pain. I have a pain. Sore (adj) to be sore sore + noun My eyes are sore. I am sore all over. I have a sore throat. I have a sore head. Ache (v) I ache all over. My joints ache. My head really aches. My head doesn't ache anymore. Stomach ache, headache, leg ache,… Ache (n) I have an ache in my arm. I have a headache. I got an earache. Suffer (v) He suffers from health problems.
