In this episode Tricia demonstrates several of her award-winning pastel painting techniques and shares advice to create story and movement in your artwork, with practical tips! Tricia uses pastel primer to create tooth, and demonstrates how to fix errors using pastel primer. She demonstrates how to add water to pastel in order to “paint” with pastels and create wet backgrounds that can be worked over the top of with a dry pastel technique. Tricia creates texture with modelling compound and mixed media techniques including tissue paper and gesso, and demonstrates how to use “juicy as” new Art Spectrum soft pastel squares.
