"Because Zig Zags have released a cassette compilation of their 2010-2012 output on the veritable, much beloved Burger Records, one might assume their tunes are steeped alone in the squealing ooze of post-Nuggets guitar psychedelia. That would be incorrect. At some point in the past three years, the SoCal outfit started lifting a few pages from the playbooks of Echo and the Bunnymen and Beach Fossils in an effort to embrace a strain of brooding desert rock. "Love Alright" is just that, and this Jessica Hundley-directed clip pairs the song's foreboding floor tom-rattle with distinctly cracked visuals of overcast skies, hooded figures, and dying flowers. 10-12, that aforementioned comp, collects their two sold out 7" singles as well as ten unreleased recordings and demos."
