Jinjug is a traditional folk dance form Performed by the Mising (or Mishing) people, an ethnic group in Assam, India. Often associated with the Jiabharali area, this cultural dance is performed during festivals and social occasions to celebrate their heritage, typically featuring traditional attire and music. The Mising Youth Festival (MYF) is an annual cultural celebration for the Mising tribe of Assam, India, focused on preserving their heritage, with the upcoming 10th Mising Youth Festival scheduled for January 26-30, 2026, at Kareng Chapori, Dhemaji. This event, often called Mising Sisang Gi:di Si:pi, showcases Mising traditions, music, dance, and crafts, uniting the youth to strengthen their identity, with preparations including erecting traditional posts and constructing tribal houses.
