Luke 2 presents the true historical setting of the Saviour’s arrival, marking the most significant turning point in human history. The God who sovereign over all earthly powers, faithfully fulfilled His promises by causing the foretold Messiah—David’s descendant—to be born in the lowliness of a manger, just as Isaiah 9 had prophesied. At the same time, the angels proclaimed the good news of salvation to humble shepherds, revealing the redemptive grace of God’s kingdom: anyone may come before this Saviour and receive His gracious and merciful redemption. As His very name declares, Jesus is the One who saves us from our sins. Cross & Crown Penang is a Protestant Reformed Evangelical Church founded in 2019. God’s desire, and therefore the Church’s vision, is for the people of Penang and beyond to have, and to keep having, Jesus as Saviour and Lord.
