It’s a short but challenging climb that rewards you with incredible postcard-worthy views over the Delaware River and surrounding mountains. I’ll also show you a smart route down that saves your knees, includes a visit to a peaceful little waterfall, and wraps up with a scenic stretch on the Appalachian Trail. We’re doing this loop counterclockwise — up the steep Red Dot Trail to the summit, then down the Blue Dot Trail and Appalachian Trail. This route is about 3.6 miles in total with plenty of rugged terrain, rocks, and elevation gain, but nothing technical or dangerous if you take your time. Along the way, I’ll point out the major landmarks so you don’t miss anything, and help you stay on track with the trail markers. I’ll also cover parking, which can be a bit of a hassle here. There are two lots right off Route 80, but they fill fast, especially on weekends. Starting early is key. I’ll show you exactly where to go, and how to navigate between the lots if you need a backup plan. If you’re looking for a solid workout with some of the best views in the state and a well-marked trail that’s easy to follow, this hike checks all the boxes. As always, I’ve got directions, maps, and a GPX file for you on my website if you want to bring them along on your hike. --- Disclaimer: Some of these links are affiliate links where I’ll earn a small commission if you make a purchase at no additional cost to you.
