Exploring mark making with mono- printing, stencils and other techniques with oil paint on a primed wooden panel 12" X 16" This is a work with oil paint that uses a ready made artists panel. I have used these before and they are a great alternative to working on a stretched canvas. Although the techniques that you see me use in this video are familiar to viewers of this channel I wanted to show how you can transfer these methods to different surfaces. You can also work on other types of wooden surfaces such as MDF, hardboard and plywood. Always seal and prime the panel before use. The panels are great to use when you want to create a heavily textured surface to work on and I will show this in a future video that will demonstrate how this can be achieved. 0:00 Wooden Panel 12" x 16" 0:26 Prime with a couple of coats of white acrylic paint. 1:40 Cadmium Yellow oil paint 5:31 Yellow Ochre oil paint 8:46 Cadmium Red oil paint mixed with a little Cadmium Yellow 9:21 Stencil 13:08 Cutting masks from brown paper 14:32 Mix of Coeruleum Blue, Burnt Umber and White oil paint 16:56 Black oil paint (final layer) 24:32 THE FINISHED WORK (finish with a couple of coats of varnish when this has dried completely) Info on the wooden panel you see me using.
