On August 2, De Los (Los Angeles Times) in partnership with Grand Performances, presented Adrian Quesada's Boleros Psicodélicos. Grammy-winning and Oscar-nominated artist Adrian Quesada is best known as the co-founder, guitarist, and producer of Black Pumas. A true guitar virtuoso, Quesada leaned into fuzzed-out riffs dripping with '60s psychedelia. His all-star backing band brought the mood to life with pounding drums, sparse guitar stabs, and organ melodies that oscillated between romantic and haunting. This was mood music melting in acid. His guest performers - Trish Toledo, Angélica Garcia, Mireya Ramos, Gaby Moreno, and Cuco - sang with all their hearts during unforgettable appearances. Even Sly5thAve, who recently cemented his legacy as an all time GP great with his Dr. Dre symphonic tribute, came out to play sax with Quesada during his set’s final act.
