Co-sensing with Radical Tenderness is a collaborative text and invitation written by Dani d’Emilia and Vanessa Andreotti, based on the work of the collective Gesturing Towards Decolonial Futures. The text appears in the book Hospicing Modernity. The book offers a powerful exercise to read the text and let what stands out stay with you and be with that. For me this meant focussing on a few phrases every month and coming back to them as a mantra throughout my day, noticing what these thoughts really mean to me and how they may or may not express through me on a day. I was drawn to do this because I found the words so deeply truthful and helpful. I was very drawn to create visual art to go along with the words and offer a similar exercise; watch and listen, let the imagery, words and music wash over you, watch again and let one or two phrases come to you more specifically. You can repeat this many times and meditate, sense and focus on what wants your attention. The spoken word, singing and music is performed by azul duque and kyra royo fay.
