What is the Long Con?

A long con is a swindle, played out over an extended period of time, with an entire team of grifters in on the act. This podcast began when a local dad discovered just such a con-- an outside attack by political operatives on a prominent public high school on Chicago's North Shore. Just days after the inauguration of Donald Trump, a parent group demanded that New Trier High School teach "both sides" of systemic racism in an upcoming seminar day focused on racial civil rights. This aggressive attack on the school administration and school board created division and rancor in the nearly all-white, wealthy and prestigious suburb. As the parents' group continued to fan the flames of protest, aided tremendously by conservative radio pundit Dan Proft, it grew into a "national story", covered extensively by Chicago media, CNN, the Wall Street Journal and others.
