🇵🇰 KARACHI PAKISTAN 2022, DRIVING IN KARACHI, کراچی; ڪراچي; UBER RIDE, I'm LOVING Karachi! I have done ZERO research before coming here..... The flights were cheap, so I booked a ticket and since I'm travelling (life is busy) - I didn't have time to do any research. I'm very impressed with the amazing people I've met today, also with how FAST my hotel internet is!!!! - finally after months of travelling the internet is FAST! Internet here is very cheap - I'm very happy about that :). In Greece they wanted 15 euro for 2GB (or something like that - INSANE!). I'm LOVING the food! I'll be honest - the food here so far is far better for me than food in Egypt, Turkey or even Greece - these are my first impressions - I'm loving the flavours here! Today was my first day in Karachi and ATM "ate" my credit card - I still don't have it. I took an Uber from my hotel to a place where they sell SIM cards to foreigners (30 minute drive). They didn't accept cards in the place and first ATM I tried ate my credit card.... I still don't have it - the local people said - I should be able to get it on Monday somehow - hopefully! Luckily I always have more than one card on me - so I went to 10 other ATMs on that street none of them had cash - today was Saturday I wonder if that has something to do with it. A few people explained a system they have in place here and that it's common to run out of cash. I had no internet, no money to pay for a SIM card (or Uber back), 30 minutes away from my hotel. Luckily I was able to get money out from the last ATM and buy the SIM card. Why I'm writting this is to say that a local woman who was waiting to use the ATM after me (and saw what happened) offered me money from her pocket - of course I denied, but I'm SHOCKED how helpful the local people are. I've been travelling all my life - this is not the 1st time an ATM abroad ate my bank card - I was completely calm, I didn't panic or complain about the situation, because I know it will be solved and I love the messiness of travelling. I can't get over the fact that she took money out of her pocket and tried to help me. She's not the only one - in the short time here, many people asked if everything is OK, if I enjoy it here etc etc. Amazing local people! It's 4am local time - I haven't had much sleep because of the flights etc, so hope everything I write makes some sence at this hour haha :). Just wanted to say I'm very impressed with Pakistan so far - I'm loving it here! After 2 weeks in Greece it's good to be in a busy city with loads of interesting stuff catching my eye every minute :). Hope you'll enjoy exploring Pakistan with me - right now the plan is to stay here for the next 2 months and explore other cities, but I'm spontaneous, so anything can change at any time :). I may end up in China with no warning, who knows haha :). #karachi, #pakistan,
