We’ve been getting a lot of questions this week about ice and snow on roofs in Middle Tennessee, which isn’t something we normally deal with here. In this video, Aaron with Tusker Roofing explains: • What ice dams are and how they form • Why ice damming can happen during rare freeze–thaw cycles in Tennessee • When ice on your roof is not a concern • What you can do right now if you’re seeing leaks • What actually prevents ice dams long term (hint: it’s usually insulation and ventilation, not the roof itself) Ice dams are common in colder climates, but when they happen here, they can cause confusion and unnecessary worry. Most of the time, if you see snow or ice on your roof and no water coming inside, it’s not an emergency. Serving Middle Tennessee, including: Franklin, Brentwood, Arrington, Thompson’s Station, Spring Hill, Nolensville, Murfreesboro, and surrounding areas. If you’re unsure what you’re seeing, you can always send us photos and we’re happy to help guide you.
