Since 1991, The Mothers' Room has been available to breastfeeding women attending the Food and Nutrition Conference & ExpoTM (FNCE®). In the convention center, a room is specially prepared to accommodate the breastfeeding woman and her infant. The room is quiet with private spaces available for breastfeeding or pumping. Refrigerated storage is available to mothers. This service is a collaborative effort of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and the Public Health/Community Nutrition Practice Group working with the Women's Health Practice Group and the Pediatric Nutrition Practice Group. The Academy of Nutrition and Dietitics members, including student members, volunteer to staff the mothers' room throughout FNCE®.
