The Brian MacLeod – Lost Recordings Palermo Recorders is the creative and archival imprint of Michael Behm. The Brian MacLeod – Lost Recordings project is dedicated to preserving and presenting unreleased recordings written and performed by Brian MacLeod. Michael Behm oversaw the curation, restoration, and independent production of these recordings through Palermo Recorders. A Note from Michael (Producer) These recordings came into my care through trust, not intention. They weren’t discovered or acquired—they were handed to me, with the understanding that they mattered. What follows isn’t a claim of authorship, but a responsibility to listen, preserve, and finally let them be heard. • Brian was gone. His voice, his presence, and his future ended far too early. • The band moved on. Life moved on. The industry did what it always does and kept going. • But these recordings didn’t go anywhere. They sat quietly, unfinished and unheard. • In a way, they were like songs without parents—created with purpose, but left without a path forward. • For years, they remained exactly as they were when the tapes stopped rolling. This project exists to give those recordings context, care, and a place to land—without altering what they are, and without rewriting their history All visual content used in this video is sourced through ethical and authorized means. AI is not a creator. It is an accelerator of human intent. Authorship lives in human decisions: the title, the taste, the edits, the rejections, and the finish. Guiding Principles • AI does nothing without human direction • Humans define what matters • Humans decide what survives • Humans finish the record AI functions as a sophisticated reference and ideation tool—similar to an advanced research engine or rapid sketchpad. It does not replace taste; it reveals where human taste, judgment, and authorship actually live. Human-First Workflow All projects follow a human-led creative framework: 1. Intent comes first — every project begins with a clear emotional goal, concept, and boundaries defined by a human creator. 2. AI as a sketchpad — AI may be used for rapid exploration and iteration, with most outputs rejected or reshaped. 3. Human selection establishes authorship — humans select, edit, combine, re-perform, and contextualize material. AI does not choose, decide, or finish. 4. Traditional production completes the work — arrangement, performance, editing, mixing, and mastering are completed through standard professional production practices. 5. Final accountability is human — humans sign their names to the work, release it, and stand behind it. All final creative decisions, authorship, and responsibility rest solely with the human artists and producers involved. This content complies with platform policies and applicable copyright laws.
