Come with us on a stroll around the timeless village of Lacock, in the heart of Wiltshire. Lacock abbey was a nunnery of the Augustinian order founded in the 13th century by Ela, countess of Salisbury. It was fortified during the English civil war, surrendering in 1645, and now houses a wonderful collection of old books and paintings. In 1835 the house made photographic history when William Henry Fox Talbot photographed a window, one of the first negatives ever taken. Its ancient cloisters have since become famous as the halls of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Lacock’s charmingly wonky timber framed and thatched houses have remained unchanged for centuries, and have featured in many films and tv shows, including Downton Abbey, Pride & Prejudice, and Wolf Hall. Music by Erasmus Talbot 'Returning Memories' & 'To Witness in Silence' (Provided by @epidemicsound ) Thanks so much for watching, Bean & Bear x If you like to see more of the English countryside please see the links below: Instagram: https://instagram.com/__beanandbear__...
