A little showcase for you today, here's a pipe bowl that Brian just finished. It's carved from Minnesota pipestone, AKA Catlinite. Pipestone is a soft stone that is great for carving. You can use many of the same carving tools that you would for carving wood, such as chisels. Brian uses a hacksaw and some power tools to rough out the shape of his carving, but the magic is all in the hand tools.
