*Built in the early 19th century, the Hangseshwari Temple in Bansberia, West Bengal, is a masterpiece of Tantric architecture and spiritual symbolism. *Raja Nrisinhadeb Roy, a descendant of the Bansberia royal family and a practitioner of Tantric cults, laid the foundation in December 1799. *After the Raja's death in 1802, his second wife, Rani Shankari, completed the temple in 1814, dedicating it to her mother-in-law, Rani Hangseswari. *The presiding deity is Maa Hanseswari, a manifestation of Goddess Kali, depicted as a blue, four-armed goddess carved from Neem wood, standing on a lotus. *Lotus Minarets: It features 13 minarets (or ratnas) shaped like blooming lotus buds, with a central one holding the idol. *Materials: The construction used stone from Chunar and featured artisans from Jaipur, Rajasthan.
