I spent a beautiful summer day at Japodski Otoci (Japodski Islands) in Bosnia, where the lush surroundings and the sound of the river made it such a peaceful escape. We had lunch by the river, which was the highlight for me—it felt so refreshing eating by the flowing water, even though the river itself was freezing cold at just 11°C, despite the warm weather. These islands are nestled in the Una River, and the natural beauty of this place is breathtaking. The clear water, pristine nature, and the peaceful atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a summer getaway. Japodski Otoci is known for its history and incredible landscapes. The islands are named after the ancient Japodes, a Celtic-Illyrian tribe that once lived in this area.
