BEST TRAIN Route in Thailand - Chiang Mai to Sukhothai | Exploring the Old kingdom

Bye bye lovely Chiang Mai. After staying about 2 months in the northern part of Thailand and mostly in Chiang Mai we left one of our favorite cities in Thailand and moved on to Sukhothai. Our adventure continued and we took the day train which was an absolute highlight of our journey so far! Most travelers take the night train to save a day BUT if you take the night train you’ll miss most of the beautiful scenery which this beautiful country has to offer! The northern part beginning in Chiang Mai is the most stunning one. We took the 3rd class train without an aircon but with open windows :) After arriving in Sukhothai - which was a little bit complicated (the train only stops in Phitsanulok we took a tuktuk to the Phitsanulok bus station, bought a bus ticket, drove to Sukhothai old city and nearly missed our stop cause there is no official bus stop and the bus driver just keeps driving without saying anything about what destination is next. We also needed to take another tuktuk to our hotel…) We explored the old city and historical national park of Sukhothai.
