My days as a drinker were filled with sorrow. The initial excitement of buying booze and drinking booze wore off quickly as the blackout ensued. The dread of waking up with a hangover and the anxiety that came along with that was killer and eventually outweighed any benefits. But, it took a long time to get there. I was hooked! Each day was hell. The thing was, I was ALWAYS enticed by the idea that drinking was going to solve my problems, my anxiety, and my disappointments with myself and my life. When I was off work for a period of time, I started to see that I needed a hobby. I needed something other than drinking alcohol to fill my days and fast. That's when my life changed and began brand new! I found things that brought me true joy, lasting peace, and a sense of self-worth that alcohol can NEVER provide!
