The car-sharing app Getaround is letting me rent a Jeep, and along with my friends from Seattle newsletter, The Evergrey, we are headed to Leavenworth, Washington. Along Route 2, we found BigFoot at Espresso Chalet (along with dozens of other coffee shops). We stopped by to talk with Mark Klein, owner of Espresso Chalet, and we learned that the show Harry and the Hendersons was filmed at this location back in the 1980s. Espresso Chalet is a popular checkpoint by travelers to Leavenworth, stopping to get a cup of coffee and snap a picture with a statue that looks just like Harry from the show. We walked around the property and found two more Sasquatch statues that have survived the years.
