I was on a bus listening to a final mix of 'Grow' when images of my Elementary school kept popping into my head... so I decided to reach out to my old elementary school and see if they would let us come in to film a video for the song... i just felt it all worked too well. Immediately we were turned down, but i kept coming back to them... this was clearly a no budget production and i guess the thought of a rock band with no insurance roaming the school freely when no one was there was a rather scary thought. I refused to take no for an answer... i kept calling back... wrote letters... did everything i could... and kept getting passed on to new people and told it was impossible and these things never happen. But i could still totally see the video there so with no back up plan, we set the date for the shoot... and i made one final pitch to the school board to let us come film. This time they approved us and told us we could only stay in the hallways no classrooms. When we got there we immediately made friends with the janitor, gave him a cd, bought him lunch and he opened up rooms to me that i hadn't stepped in since i was a little kid... it was such an amazing experience... plus it really brought the message of the song to life for me. I learned a few invaluable lessons later in life from that school... most importantly if you want something bad enough.. anything... you can make it happen. Also, sometimes its great to go back to who you know to readdress where and what you're doing. Fun Facts: The water fountain i am drinking out of twords the end used to actually be on the outside of the school when i was kid. For the auditorium scene in the beginning i had VAL, a good friend of the bands write out the Where are you' on the blackboard. Jeremy Yuricek directed this video. Enjoy! Nathan .
