We Took the HARD Trail... 2023 Desert 100 Dual Sport Poker Run

For me, the highlight of the 2023 Desert 100 event near Odessa, Washington was the dual sport poker run. This was a fabulous opportunity to get my Honda CRF450L out on some rocky desert singletrack and really put my newest mods, particularly my Honda CRF450L AIM ECU and Graves Full exhaust to the test. Tim and I decided to start the day off with a bang by immediately jumping on the hardest singletrack trail on the route. Things went okay but we got tired out quickly and ended up rescuing another dual sport rider on the 2023 Desert 100 dual sport poker run who was having trouble getting over a cattle guard obstacle. Thankfully we were there to help and he got on his way successfully. Afterward, a quick stop at the brewery in Odessa for lunch before heading on to the Industrial Park Trail and beyond. This was some of the most difficult Honda CRF450L trail riding I've done, and I struggled more than once with both my lack of skill and my current lack of physical fitness. All in all, a great day of dual sport trail riding and a well-deserved beverage run at the end.
