This is my review of TheBlockZone’s giant red crane set. All functions work well considering the size of this model. The motors are powerful and allow the crane to drive on a flat surface even though it's very large and heavy. The main boom extension and back mast spread/raise functions seem to overwork the motors and the battery stops functioning after a few seconds of operation. However, the separately sold main actuators lift the boom effortlessly. Despite the use of a carbon fiber turntable, the counterweights and boom have to be perfectly balanced to ensure level operation. The boom is incredibly heavy, so balance is challenging. The video instructions show incorrect routing of the hoist cable, which causes a lot of friction, so I had to reroute the cable under the back mast after assembling the model.
