This Racework carbon fibre crankset from AliExpress, its cheap and lightweight, but how does it perform? Recently a set of carbon cranks from a brand called Racework has been showing up, so I bought myself a set. It makes use of a one piece aluminium chainring, and the cranks arms are composed of a lightweight carbon fibre. I chose a compact 50-34, with 170mm crank arms, and they are incredibly lightweight at only 548g. Just for a point of comparison, a standard Shimano Tiagra 4700 crankset weighs around 950g, so this is nearly half the weight. Out on the road it feels great, and shifts really well. Plus it looks incredible in my opinion, and the gold decals are definitely growing on me. In this episode, i'll cover the unboxing, show you the construction and then get these out on the road.
