Laser etching stone? | Buddhist symbol on Sandstone

In this video, I show you laser etching a Buddhist symbol on sandstone with a 60watt Fibe laser. I recently had a customer ask me to etch the Buddhist symbol "Om mani Padme hum" on stone. Since they were providing the stone and I'm more than willing to learn the best setting for a variety of materials I gave it a try. This video is the process I used. Make sure your stone is flat and level on all plains. I used the following settings: Speed - 2500, Frequency - 45, and Power - 95% with 5 passes for a deep etch. If you are new to laser work don't be afraid to try new things you'll be amazed at the results or you'll learn what doesn't work. Both are important things! Whether for a business or a hobby make sure you're using your laser safely.
