Two teams were selected to represent Ireland at the very first FIPSed Fédération Internationale de la Pêche Sportive en Eau Douce World Feeder Championships for Clubs in Spain. The two coarse angling club teams from Tubertini Match Group and VDR Erne Anglers were up against the Worlds best feeder angling teams in the championships which saw 31 club teams from 16 nations compete. Ireland Youth Team Manager Jack Tisdall fishing alongside club members and fellow Fermanagh anglers Tony Kersley and Mark Theedom along with Cavan angler Francis McGoldrick, gave an outstanding performance winning his section on both days leading the team to a fifth place. A proud day for the team and Ireland – just one good carp away from a podium finish! In the Individual standings Jack Tisdall became the first Irish Angler to win his section on both days of a major World Championships, with a perfect score of two points he was placed in second place in the Championships, only beaten on total weight countback by the Italian angler Marco Manni. Team Tubertini finished in 9th place on day one and 3rd place on day two with Ireland 1st & 2nd in D section. Team Ireland VDE Erne Anglers John McVey, Karl Woodhouse, Brian Bohan and Gavin Brown finished a very credible 17th out of the 31 club teams representing 16 nations with Karl Woodhouse section in his section to Jack Tisdall on day two.
