If you have an SUV ( sports utility vehicle) then this video shows you how you can turn it into a modern camper van. Minus kitchen sink, toilet etc. Now there really isn’t anything sporty about SUVs despite the name so why do we buy them? They are essentially a crossover from the massive 4 wheel drive Chelsea wagons and the classic estate car. They have large boots, high of the ground and usually very comfortable and ideal for 2 sets of people. Those with a growing ( as in getting older) family and older people, however there is a third set of people probably overlooked from the trend. Those looking for versatility. That’s where we come in. Although making a big mistake with the MG, the general concept and design of the SUV suits our needs. 1/ growing older family. 2/ requirement for extra space and versatility. Don’t get me wrong the MGHS has loads of space and is comfortable to a degree, there are lots of negatives with this car. Anyway enough about that and more about the video. We wanted to try a different approach to having to take the tent/bivvy while camping overnight. What we didn’t realise was the amount of stuff you need which packs easily into the boot can’t fit when you are sleeping in the same space. This was an issue. Second was the access in and out which was problematic. And lastly in our situation as I am 6’ 2” - the car wasnt long enough so I was crunched up even though we left the boot open all night. That said, I’ll save the stuff we have for an emergency as it’s better than sleeping in a car seat…. Marginally. Anyway we hope you enjoy the video and like and subscribe.
