In this video, i am doing a plant unboxing and haul of my wishlist plants from Thailand. This is my first time importing plants, and it's a roller coaster experience. When importing plants, I think early fall is the best time of the year to do so. However, because of customs, importing and exporting laws, and shipping delays, plants may not arrive to you before the weather gets too cold. Expect an average of one and a half wait from placing the order to actually receiving the plant, and also expect that the plant won't be in their best condition. Make sure you research the company you are buying from, watch or read reviews from past buyers. Only purchase from reputable sellers and use payment methods that can offer you buyer protection, such as Paypal, and check with your credit card company their policies on disputing charges. Make sure the website is also secure and doesn't store your credit card information. Research export laws of the country you are buying plants from and your local and state laws when it comes to importing plants. A phytosanitary certificate is a MUST and don't trust any seller that makes it optional. Your plants will be seized by US customs without it. Where i ordered my plants: www.aseanplantexport.com. I paid for my plants out of my own pocket and I am not affiliated or sponsored by the company. i waited for over a year to finally buy my wishlist plants and i am a very happy to finally have them. However, the high wears off quickly and tbh, i get the same amount of joy when I get my hands on non-rare plants. Save for the Thai Constellation Monstera (which i still got for waaaayyy cheaper than what it sells in the US), I paid the same amount for the "rare" plants as what i paid for most of my more common pothos plants, even if shipping price (when evenly divided) included. You shouldn't pay ten times more than you normally do for plants because they are labeled rare. Getting wishlist plants are great, but it's even better when you get them at bargain price!
