Inside Gensler Atlanta’s New Office Where Creativity Plays and Local Culture Thrives

Gensler Atlanta’s Breezy Adiano and Mary Johnson take us on a tour of their redesigned office. With the unique mission of designing for designers, the goal was to create a space that “felt authentically us — more approachable and more human” while also celebrating the rich and vibrant culture of Atlanta. Local culture is celebrated at every turn at the reimagined Gensler Atlanta office, from playful “All Y’all” wall graphics to nods to the music and film industries. The Atlanta office boasts a range of spaces for working and gathering — from sunny focus zones that make you feel “like a cat basking in the afternoon sun,” to agile teaming neighborhoods, to a wellness room for recharging and a multifaith room for calm reflection. Design is on display in the large-scale, tech-enabled gathering room that blurs the lines between formal client presentations and day-to-day “creative chaos” as well as in the upgraded design lab, which houses samples, from fabrics and tiles to flooring and metals, offering a space for everyone, from brand designers to architects, to experiment and imagine. Inspired by Atlanta’s nickname of the “City in the Forest,” all four corners of the office are anchored by a terrace with stunning views — a serene setting where colleagues can unwind at the end of the day together.
