US State Dept on Newsclick raid: “Can’t comment on accuracy of China affiliation allegations”

In response to the recent raids on journalists in India and allegations of their connections to China, the United States has acknowledged these concerns and taken note of the reports suggesting affiliations between these media outlets and the People's Republic of China (PRC). The U.S. government has also emphasized its strong support for the vital role of the media on a global scale, including social media, within a vibrant and free democratic framework. Principal Deputy Spokesperson of the U.S. State Department, Vedant Patel, stated, "We are aware of these concerns and have observed reports regarding the ties of these outlets to the PRC. However, we cannot currently comment on the accuracy of these claims...
