Planckendael Zoo in Mechelen is well-known and popular in Belgium. Thanks to its favourable location between Brussels and Antwerp, almost 1,000,000 people visit the sister zoo of Antwerp Zoo every year. Beyond the country's borders, however, the Planckendael Zoo feels somewhat neglected behind the city zoo and the pompous Pairi Daiza. Time to change that!
