Inside West Africa For more: www.insidewestafrica.com / realadventur. . / rawithmiaandlia Music: Cesaria Evora, song 'Flor di nha esperanca' Welcome to Fogo!Island of an active volcano, black sand, goat cheese, wine and lovely people! copyright music: Cesaria Evora - Flor di nha esperanca About Inside West Africa - Cabo Verde Our aim is to promote local culture, less traveled and visited places and businesses. We believe that local establishments, local people and small grassroots organisations should be promoted and by paying attention to them we think these projects will be more visible and people will be inspired to visit/ join. Moreover, we believe that by making mini documentaries we can describe the place much better than only by pictures or description. Through storytelling, writing reviews and blogs we can share our travelling experience and share stories from our own perspective, thereby inspire and motivate the less experienced traveler to explore these less known places. Are you ready to explore Cabo Verde with us? Who is Mia and Lia? We are two conservationists, interested in animal biology from Slovakia and The Netherlands with a background in medicine. Mia is a wildlife biologist and a physician; Lia is studying MSc Wildlife Biology and is a veterinarian. We met in Edinburgh, Scotland, where both of us were studying the MSc Wildlife Biology and Conservation at the Edinburgh Napier University. Passionate about conservation, we started our first adventure in Boa Vista where we worked (with Turtle Foundation) to protect the loggerhead sea turtles. This is also the place where the documentary making process started. After the sea turtle project finished we decided to continue making video’s. Gradually the focus shifted from nature conservation to documentaries where the accent lies on showing the culture of Cabo Verde. The topics we cover are diverse: food, travel, music and reviews/ recommendations on local places and businesses. Watch out for more soon!
