Wet Weather for the Big Island Today along with Statewide Breezy Trades

Expect breezy to locally windy trade winds today, bringing in plenty of tropical moisture. Maui and the Big Island will likely see moderate to heavy showers this morning, mainly in windward and mountain areas, with the rain spreading to the other islands this afternoon. The chance of heavy rain will go down later today, but breezy, showery conditions will continue through Thursday. By Friday and into early next week, the middle levels of the atmosphere will dry out, meaning fewer clouds and showers. Over the weekend, lighter trade winds may allow for more typical land and sea breezes to form. Drier, moderate trade winds should return by Sunday.
