I didn't want to do anything before consulting someone else to make sure I wasn't going to permanently influence this tiny new human I'd brought into the world. I hope some of you are the same way, or I really will start to think I'm just crazy. I was lucky. My sister was a nursery room nurse and worked at an OB/GYNs office when I gave birth. I pretty much had a 24-hour hotline if I really needed something. I get that not everyone is that fortunate. Or some just don't want to bother other people. So I'm going to try to help you! I am meeting with some of my friends at the hospital (the professionals!) to cover some of the basic parenting skills we all need at one time or another. My hope is that the answers to all the immediate questions a new parent might have will be sitting right here waiting for them, no matter what time they need them.
