This thought-provoking track dives headfirst into the complexities of contemporary society, delivering a searing critique of media manipulation, societal division, and the disorientation that many feel in today’s world. Originally written during the pandemic, Maurice Taylor, bassist and lyricist, described the inspiration as stemming from a time when the media amplified fear and confusion. “The ‘times’ referenced in the song go beyond the pandemic,” Taylor explains. “It’s about everything from fake news to the pressure of wokeness and how these forces sow division among us.” “Admonition” marks a significant milestone for Humanness Test, as it was the first track they recorded with their new vocalist, Marko Duplisak (LastDayHere, Inmate). His dynamic vocal range and emotive delivery elevate the band’s sound to new heights, seamlessly blending with the intricate instrumentation crafted by founding members Maurice Taylor and Chris Lucci. The track also features guest contributions from Clint Wilson on guitar and Jason Rooks on background vocals, further enriching its sonic layers. Produced by Lucci and Taylor, and meticulously mixed and mastered by Lucci, “Admonition” stands as a testament to the band’s evolving artistry. Following their debut single, “Tribute”—an ode to progressive rock legends Rush—“Admonition” continues Humanness Test’s journey of delivering thought-provoking music with a technical edge. The band promises more to come in early 2025, building anticipation with this concise yet impactful rocker. For fans of progressive metal and rock, “Admonition” offers an immersive experience that bridges the personal and the universal. =========================================== LYRICS Like a punch to the throat I am woke I can see through all of the lies On the screen Pushing the line And causing this great divide Can’t you see We’re all different ways Am I up, am I down I can’t seem to escape from this maze Now, you’re no longer here To watch over every step I take And no longer there To slip and fall, and learn from your mistakes All that we are And all that we see Remains a mystery All that we do Between me and you Just a chosen few If I were a drowning man Would you even offer your hand If not a shoulder to cry on If there are times I did not know Death lies in all of us So let the sun Burn through the sky once again Save me from myself Save me from myself Save me from myself Save, save me Won’t you save me? =============================================== CREDITS Music by Maurice Taylor Lyrics by Maurice Taylor and Cameron Canedy Produced by Chris Lucci and Maurice Taylor Engineered by Chris Lucci, Maurice Taylor Mixed and mastered by Chris Lucci Chris Lucci (Drums, Sounds) Maurice Taylor (Bass, Guitars, Keyboards) Guest Musicians: Marko Duplisak (Vocals) Clint Wilson (Guitars) Jason Rooks (Background Vocals) Video by Menno Kappe | Graviton Music Services Marketing and promotion: Graviton Music Services @ https://www.graviton-themissinglink.com/ #saveme #progressiverock #progressivemetal
