NGO LOOB Advocacy Video- Iloilo City Garbage Situation.

“Be a part of the solution, not part of the pollution” Our place, Iloilo is a beautiful and outstanding city. It is a haven for nature and cultural identity. We, Ilonggos, should make efforts to protect this paradise! NGO LOOB together with Iloilo City Environment & Natural Resources Office (CENRO) and Solid Waste Management Division - General Services Office (GSO), humbly presents this advocacy video centering Iloilo City’s Garbage Situation. This successful partnership project aims to increase the awareness of our beloved Ilonggos with their environment. This advocacy focuses on the solid waste management issue which remains a major challenge in the urban areas like Iloilo City. Improper waste disposal practices, poor awareness on the current situation of solid waste management, and the lack of willingness to participate are some of the causes affecting the improvement in the solid waste management in the city. More importantly, it will give us a glimpse of the reality behind the waste recycler’s everyday life in Calajunan Sanitary Landfill. Lastly, it presents actions on how we, Ilonggos, can help in alleviating the pressure on our city’s sanitary landfill located in Barangay Calajunan. Waste management is an important issue that needs collective action. Today, there is little awareness that exists regarding this issues in our society. With this, it is even more important to be considerate about how we, Ilonggos take care of our city, Iloilo.
